Zayo Group is a provider of telecom & Internet infrastructure services with infrastructure services provided over regional, metro fiber & fiber to the tower networks that span 144 markets & 28 states. Zayo Group consists of four autonomous business units that target specific sectors of the telecom & Internet infrastructure space. UIS built a multi-domain site running all of Zayo's sub-sites of one database with partially shared content. Custom maps to showcase Zayo's network with a sophisticated address search and print functionality are the highlight of Zayo's new website. http://zayo.com

The AmberWatch Alert System was built for the Amberwatch Foundation to be used as a tool to protect kids against child predators. UIS built the Drupal web application that allows visitors to sign up for email alerts and submit suspicious behavior. Administrators can review incidents and start investigations on the backend. Our application helps staffers to coordinate their investigations, keep track of local contacts across the United States and send email alerts targeted at subscribers for specific zip codes. http://besafe.amberwatchalert.org.

OrtonPlanningTools.org is an online hub for the best tools, resources, organizations and practitioners in community planning. It allows urban planners to find and contribute new projects and ideas to help grow an information bank for communities everywhere. Donut Fridays is a networking website for localization and QA professionals. User can create accounts, upload a picture and share their professional information. After signing up, they can add their friends to their profile and begin using Donut Fridays for connecting with other professionals, posting in forums, looking for jobs, and being visible for others that are looking for your specific skill set. UIS used Drupal to build a tailored social networking website for the needs of translators and testers.

MetroFuture is a bold and achievable plan to make a "Greater Boston Region" - to better the lives of the people who live and work in Metropolitan Boston between now and 2030. Built with the extensive participation of thousands of "plan builders," it includes detailed goals for development and preservation, and specific strategies to help the region achieve its goals. TextTheMob.com is a feedback tool for presentations, conferences and workshops. It enables users to collect feedback (polls and messages) from their audience via mobile phone. Responses are displayed on a screen or monitor in real-time. It is a free/ad-supported service hosted and developed by UIS. http://TextTheMob.com

In 1987, Asian activists and leaders founded ACDC in response to the needs of the Chinatown community. Today, ACDC is expanding its programs to meet the needs of a changing and diversifying Asian American community in Greater Boston. UIS built their new website based on Drupal, including a sophisticated event registration and payment feature, group podcasts for their youth programs and a community blog. http://asiancdc.org

UIS developed this website to support a Community Asset Mapping project to inform those who live in Biloxi, particularly the city’s youth and their parents, about the wide array of resources, organizations, and activities available to them. “Assets” can be found through a simple, easy to use search feature, or conveniently displayed on an intuitive map. A blog provides important updates about local sites and issues. And the website is user-driven, visitors can update all information, post comments about various sites, associations, or projects in progress, or share information by emailing it to friends or family members. http://BiloxiYouthAssets.org

GuerillaTweets is a mobile marketing and dialogue solution that extends Twitter by making Tweets accessible via SMS. With GuerillaTweets, users can promote events, collect feedback or even have a conversation with more people by making posts instantly available to anyone with a cell phone. As a side project, UIS created an online community to promote the German language throughout the US. Registered users can directly interact with each other by posting new “Germanisms”, or rating and commenting on existing ones. A comment form is available, allows community members to provide feedback to site owners.
